Giro was not easy, but successful. We were lucky with the weather, we had no serious falls, illnesses and health problems, in general. We were eight when we finished Giro, we had one personal victory and one team victory. Thus, the debut of our team Gasprom was great.
It was not easy for me, especially during the second week. The thing is that I wasn’t racing during 10 months and 7 months I had no scheduled trainings. But I only started training in January.
Physiologists and coaches warned me about possible failure because there was no time to create physiological basic preparation and it was meaningless to start detailed intensive work. In general, it was no matter. As the result of it my body has coped. On the third week of Giro my body began adapting to the circumstances and it became easier for me.
As expected after Giro I had a short break. In 5 days I tested myself and got good results. I believe that the following 3 or 4 weeks I will work in a good rhythm and I will be able to get in shape due to the exhausted three weeks of Giro which I had.
